Man Killed By Housemate During Fight In Coram: Police
The man was found seriously injured near his house and pronounced dead at a hospital, police say.
CORAM, NY — A man was killed during a fight with his housemate in Coram on Sunday, Suffolk police said.
A 911 caller reported two men fighting outside a home in the 130 block of West Yaphank Road around 11:10 a.m., police said. Officers found Kenneth Mitchell, 62, who lived in the house, with serious injuries, police said. He was brought to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.
Albert Coppedge, 46, the other man involved in the altercation, returned to the house several hours later, police said. Coppedge, who also lives in the home, was not injured, police said.

Coppedge was charged with second-degree murder. He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
