Not the facts

we all end up paying

The Port Jefferson Mayor states that the Barnum Ave. anticapated parking lot is the first new one in 50 years when in fact the Linden St lot was put in just last year with $800,000 given by Bellone, Suffolk County Supervisor. Bellone is quite generous with taxpayer monies to again front a parking lot in the same Village for $200,000. Yes I live in the Village but these funds are coming from tax money whether Village, Town, County, State or Fed. Bottom line, we all pay for it, so who is pushing the monies toward Port Jefferson and why and what do they expect in return? A $525,000 Bond was approved in May of 2016 that the Port Jefferson taxpayers were responsible for for the parking lot. No explanation of why the County is now giving more monies for the project or why the location of the lot has changed.
