Po'Boy Brewery Voted Long Island's Best Craft Beer Brewery

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — Po'Boy Brewery was named best craft beer brewery on Long Island as voted on by residents in Bethpage Federal Credit Union's Best of Long Island awards. The brewery can be found at 200 Wilson St. Unit E3, Port Jefferson Station.

"Beer is always more enjoyable when you buy it straight from the place that created it," authors wrote on the Best of Long Island website. "Breweries are increasingly plentiful on Long Island, lucky for us, and they all have their own ways of concocting beers with distinct colors and flavors to provide a wide variety of choices for customers."

This was Po'Boy Brewery's first time winning the honor. The brewery's name is now up there with Long Island craft beer juggernauts Blue Point Brewing Company and Oyster Bay Brewing Co.

Barrage Brewing Company, a now-closed Farmingdale brewery, was the only other first-place winner.

Wesam Hassanin, bar manager at Po'Boy Brewery, said she and the staff were "absolutely excited" to be voted Long Island's best.

"When we first opened up the brewery, we had a very specific vision in mind, a place like the Cheers Bar!!," Hassanin told Patch in an email. "And now, three years later, we have created just that! We have made so many friends over this time frame that are very loyal and devoted, and we could NOT have done it without all of their votes! It's very motivating and heartwarming, and we will continue to strive and grow so that we may to live up to the title of Best Craft Brewery and meet their expectations. Such an honor!"

Po'Boy Brewery serves a variety of craft beers including ales, pilsners, India pale ales and stouts, as well as ciders. Drinks come in pints, 32-ounce or 64-ounce growler fills, 16-ounce cans, and four-packs of cans.
