Port Jefferson Boys Cross-Country Win Suffolk Championship

The boys are Suffolk's class C champions! It marked the third consecutive county championship for the team.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — The Port Jefferson School District’s varsity boys cross-country team won the Suffolk County Class C championship, the district announced in a news release. It marked the third straight year the squad won the county championship.

The team was led by seniors Grant Samara and Brian Veit, who finished with the top individual times in Class C.

"On behalf of the school district, congratulations to team members Brendan Capodanno, Teppei Fukuto, Gray Joyner, Grant Samara, Ryan Sommerstad, Brian Veit and Colin Veit and coach Rod Cawley for bringing home the top honors," the district wrote.
