Port Jefferson Swimmers Represent At Suffolk County Championships

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Earl L. Vandermeulen High School student-athletes Olivia Schlegel, Kate Sommerstad and Brennyn Veit represented the Port Jefferson Royals this weekend at the Suffolk County Swim championships in Stony Brook University, according to a news release from the school district.

Olivia finished sixth in Suffolk in the 200-meter Individual Medley and third in the 100-meter backstroke.

Brennyn placed 10th in the county in the 200-meter Individual Medley, while Kate finished third in the 200-meter freestyle and first in the county in the 500-meter freestyle.
