Port Jefferson Trio Qualifies For Suffolk Swimming Championship

The Girls Swimming County Championships are scheduled this week at Stony Brook University.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Three swimmers from Port Jefferson have qualified for the Girls Swimming County Championships, according to the school district.

Sophomore Olivia Schlegel, as well as juniors Kate Sommerstad and Brennyn Veit, are slated to compete at Stony Brook University on Saturday and Sunday.

Kate will swim in the 200m freestyle and 500m freestyle races. Olivia will compete in the 100m backstroke and the 200m individual medley. Brennyn will also compete in the 200m individual medley as well as the 100m breaststroke races.
