Selden Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Coram Crash

Philip Pepe, 63, was riding a Harley Davidson when it colilded with two cars; he was taken to Stony Brook Hospital, police said.

CORAM, NY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured when the Harley Davidson he was riding collided with two other vehicles Thursday afternoon in Coram, Suffolk County police said.

Philip Pepe, 63, was riding on a 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling southbound on County Road 83, when it collided with two cars at the intersection of Route 112 just after noon, according to police. The two cars, a 2008 Nissan Rouge and a 2019 BMW X3, were also traveling south, police said.

Pepe, of Selden, was transported by a local ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, police said. The Nissan’s driver, Jose Fernandez, 51, of Coram, and the driver of the BMW, Monet Cress, 30, of Port Jefferson, were not injured in the crash.

All of the vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact 6th Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
