Suffolk Police rescued an 8-week-old orange tabby kitten from a storm drain.

The pur-fect heroes came to this kitten's rescue.
Two Suffolk County police officers rescued an 8-week-old kitten from a storm drain Port Jefferson Station this weekend.
Officers Joanna Westrack and Daniel Paiva responded to the call on Ontario Street and found the orange tabby kitten at the bottom of the drain.

According to police, the officers tied at loop into a rope and were able to lower it down and get the kitten to step into it before pulling him up.
The officers transported the kitten to Animal Emergency Service in Selden for treatment of malnourishment and respiratory difficulty, according to officials.

The department said Westract is "hoping to make this little one a permanent part of her family."
