Winter Storm Threatens Long Island Next Week

LONG ISLAND, NY – A winter storm could bring accumulating snow to Long Island early next week, forecasters say.
"At this time the precipitation begins Monday evening and continues into early Tuesday evening, with a prolonged period of light snow," the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion Friday evening.
The weather service hasn't made any official accumulation estimates yet, but The Weather Channel is currently predicting 1-3 inches of snow for the area.

Friday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 23. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph.

Saturday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 30. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
Saturday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 19. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. Northwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Sunday- Sunny, with a high near 33. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph.
Sunday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Monday- Partly sunny, with a high near 36.
Monday Night- A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 25.
Tuesday- Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Tuesday Night- A 30 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
Wednesday- Sunny, with a high near 37.
Wednesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 23.
