Winter Weather Advisory Issued For LI With Snow, Ice on The Way
Hazardous conditions on the roadways will impact the morning and evening commutes Tuesday. See the hour-by-hour forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Long Island. It will be in effect from 5 a.m. until midnight Tuesday.
A total of 1-3 inches of snow is expected to accumulate on the island.
Expect all snow, moderate to potentially heavy at times Tuesday morning and then it will likely mix with sleet/freezing rain late in the morning, the NWS says.

"Plan on slippery road conditions and potentially a long period of sleet," the winter winter advisory says. "The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commutes."
