Woman Runs Off After Port Jefferson Crash That Injured Man: SCPD
The woman made a U-turn, colliding with another car, seriously injuring its driver, police say. She then ran away, police say.
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — A woman ran away following a collision that left a man seriously injured in Port Jefferson on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.
A woman driving a 2002 Ford Explorer was stopped in the westbound left turning lane of Route 347, at the intersection of Sara Circle, when she made a U-turn and collided with an eastbound 2012 Toyota Prius at approximately 10:30 p.m., police said.
The Prius driver, a 65-year-old New York City man, is being treated at Stony Brook University Hospital for serious injuries, police said. The woman driving the Ford ran off, police said.
