$28K In Merchandise Stolen From High-End Nassau Store: Police

Police say two men broke into a high-end fashion designer store and drove off in a Honda Civic.

MANHASSET, NY — Two Queens Village men have been arrested after police said they broke a glass door at a high-end American Manhasset clothing store and stole over $28,000 in merchandise.

Police were called to a Dior store on Northern Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Investigators determined two men shattered a glass door, entered the store, drove off in a Honda Civic with merchandise. Dior is a luxury designer fashion store that also sells cosmetics, jewelry and other accessories.

Police later found a Civic matching the vehicle's description and arrested Ervis Sula, 31, of 90th Avenue, and Daniel Cardenas, 26, of 214th Street. Police said Cardenas had heroin when he was arrested.

Both men face charges of 3rd- burglary and 2nd-degree criminal mischief. Cardenas also faces two charges of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The were scheduled to appear in Mineola court Monday.
