Construction of Shoreline Trail Commences

Construction began on Aug. 11 to add a mile to the existing quarter mile trail.

The construction of the expanded Shoreline Trail along Port Washington’s West Shore Road commenced on Aug. 11.

Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio and members of Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington Mindy Germain and Dan Donatelli were on hand to witness to commencement of the project, which will add one mile to the existing quarter mile trail.

The $800,000 project, part of the 2014-2018 Capital Plan approved by the Town Board earlier this year, was partially financed with a $371,000 grant from the Nassau County Bond Act and New York State Parks.
