PORT WASHINGTON, NY — A $1,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of a dog who was last seen on a boat tied to the fuel dock of Manhasset Bay Marina in Port Washington. The tiny, white Maltese answers to the name Princess, owner Viktorija Ivinskas of Edgewater, New Jersey, told Patch on Sunday morning.

Three dogs were on the boat between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday, which was docked near La Motta's Restaurant, she said. They were not leashed at the time.

"I went to check on the dogs, there were three dogs on the boat, and my dog was missing," an emotional Ivinskas said.

While she looks like a puppy, Princess is actually 9 years old. She weighs about 5 pounds.

"She's a sweetheart," said Ivinskas. "She is so friendly, she would go with anyone."

Ivinskas is sure the dogs wouldn't have jumped off the boat, and their only suspicion is that someone must have taken her. She said they've reached out to police and asked to review security cameras from the restaurant. They plan to ask other boat owners to review any footage they might've taken.

The marina is located off Matincock Avenue.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call 917-626-8657.

Nassau County police said they did not receive any report of a missing dog. Port Washington police said they did not immediately have any information available.
