Drunk Driver Crashes Car Into LI Home, Injures Woman, 84: PD
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries; was transported to a hospital in police custody, Nassau County police said.
LEVITTOWN, NY — A Levittown man driving drunk crashed his car into a neighbor’s home, injuring an 84-year-old woman on Tuesday, Nassau County police said.
Police said that just before 5 p.m. Robert Cunningham, 53, drove a car on Polaris Drive, and it “left the roadway,” before striking a home and causing “significant damage to the residence.” Photos of the crash show a Jeep inside the ranch-style home as police officers from the department’s Emergency Services Unit work to extract it.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and she was transported to an area hospital for treatment. An “intoxicated” Cunningham suffered minor injuries and he was also transported — but in police custody — to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
