Family Fun at Party in the Park

For nearly 30 years, Party in the Park has been a fun-filled community event where hundreds of young families can spend a fall afternoon.

Organized by Residents Forward, this year’s Party in the Park event will take place on Sunday, September 30 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. The afternoon will feature six experiential zones: Family Fun like the beloved trackless train that brings riders through the park, carnival games and more; Healthy Bodies activities such as martial arts, basketball and gymnastics; Building Young Minds, e.g., legos, golf, etc.; Healthy Planet that features a scavenger hunt, sustainability activities and more; Family Safety, which includes a visit from the Fire Department; and, Music & Art featuring live music, face painting and more! Landmark on Main Street is again graciously sponsoring the Landmark Festival Stage with live music.

“When my children were young, Party in the Park was one of their favorite community events,” Residents Executive Director Mindy Germain said. “The event has extra special meaning because of where it is held. Beautiful Blumenfeld Park was named for Residents Forward’s founder Mike (Myron) Blumenfeld so we celebrate him, too.” In honor of Myron, who passed earlier this year, a special tree planting ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Residents Forward is grateful to Presenting Sponsors The Peter & Jeri Dejana Family Foundation, Stuart Johnson, National Grid, Precision Work, Inc., The Town of North Hempstead and Village Dental, as well as its Community Partners for their support for Party in the Park and throughout the year.
