Forbes: Port Washington Among Most Expensive Zip Codes in the Country

Several communities in North Hempstead ranked in the list of America's Most Expensive Zip Codes.

Forbes has revealed its list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes for 2014, and the list includes several North Hemsptead communities.

Of the 500 most expensive zip codes, Port Washington (11050) ranked 448 with a median home price of $948,566 and an average of 154 days on the market.

Other zip codes on the list included:

  • Old Westbury (11568), – #49, Median Price $2,818,307. Average Days on the market: 301
  • Great Neck (11024), – #91, Median price: $2,085,319, Average days on the market:177
  • Manhasset (11030), – #108, Median price: $1,922,156, Average days on the market: 137
  • Great Neck (11020), – #288, Median price: $1,216,304, Average days on the market: 92
  • Roslyn (11576) – #322, Median price: $1,140,617, Average days on the market

According to Forbes, its annual list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes is based on data from Altos Research, a Mountain View, California-based real estate analysis firm.

For this ranking, Altos calculated the median home prices for more than 28,500 U.S. ZIP codes (covering 95% of the U.S. population) using asking prices for single-family homes and condominiums listed for sale.
