ROSLYN, NY — Two Freeport brothers have been arrested after police said the men robbed a third man of about $1,800 in shoes outside a Roslyn hotel.

Around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, Christopher Vilca and Jean Vilca-Alvites, both of South Long Beach Avenue, approached a 35-year-old man outside the Roslyn Hotel on Old Northern Boulevard, police said. The trio had engaged in sneaker deals in the past.

A dispute ensued, and Vilca-Alvites, 19, indicated he had a weapon in his waistband, police said. He ordered the man to hand over cash or the bag full of sneakers, police said. The brothers grabbed the bag and drove off in a black Honda Pilot, police said.
