Hanukkah​ Celebration, Menorah Lighting Ceremony In N. Hempstead

The event will offer live music, latkes, various treats and refreshments.

The Chabad of Port Washington and Town of North Hempstead are joining together for a Menorah Lighting and Hanukkah Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 14.

The lighting of the menorah will take place at 4 p.m. on the front lawn of Town Hall, located at 220 Plandome Road in Manhasset.

Town Officials and Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel will be lighting the menorah as the sun sets in the background.

The event will offer live music, latkes, various treats and refreshments.

Hanukkah runs from Wednesday, Dec. 13 until sunset on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The holiday celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, when it is said that one day's worth of sacred oil lasted for eight days.
