LI Gardens Listed On AAA’s Best Botanic Gardens In The Northeast

The magazine highlights Clark Gardens in Albertson and Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, along with others to visit this spring.

ALBERTSON, NY – Two Long Island parks — Clark Gardens and Planting Fields Arboretum — were recently featured in AAA’s magazine’s list of Best Botanic Gardens in the Northeast to visit this spring.

The 12-acre Clark Garden, located off I.U. Willets Road in Albertson in the Town of North Hempstead, has a pollinator, rain gardens, and a series of walking paths for visitors to use, as well as areas to sit down and take in the view. Dogs are not allowed in the garden, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay features over 300 acres of grounds, two green houses and Coe Hall. It has been included on the National Register of Historic Places. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Social distancing guidelines and facial masks are required at both parks.

North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth said town officials are “proud” that Clark has been included on the list of the top gardens to visit this spring.

“There so much to see at Clark Botanic Garden. We invite our residents to visit and explore the garden with their families. It is a great way to adhere to social distancing guidelines and enjoy some sun and fresh air,” she said.

Botanic gardens are featured on AAA’s list throughout New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Among the list includes the Central Park Observatory in Manhattan; the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, as well as the Queens, and Brooklyn botanical gardens.
