Narcotics Found At Americana Manhasset Mall; 2 Arrested: Police

Police say two men were found with narcotics believed to be heroin and cocaine.

MANHASSET, NY — Two people were arrested at the high-end Americana Manhasset mall after police said they had narcotics believed to be heroin and cocaine.

Around 6 p.m. Thursday, police saw Jihad Giles, 22, of Coram, and Tyreke Nottingham, 22, of Amityville, get into a running vehicle that smelled like marijuana, police said. Officers later found they had narcotics, including a powdery substance believed to be heroin and a white substance believed to be cocaine.

Giles and Nottingham were taken into custody and face three counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
