North Hempstead to Hold Hanukkah Celebration at Town Hall
Latkes and other treats will be available.

The Town of North Hempstead will celebrate Hanukkah on the front lawn of Town Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Hanukkah, which runs from Dec. 24 until sunset on Jan 1, celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, when it is said that one day's worth of sacred oil lasted for eight days.
The ceremony kicks off at 4 p.m. at Town Hall, located at 220 Plandome Road in Manhasset.

Town officials and Rabbi Paltiel will be lighting the menorah as the sun sets in the background.
