PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Kids and families in the Town of North Hempstead are invited to participate in a special virtual winter holiday craft workshop where they'll work with snowflake stickers and paint ceramic penguins.
The town partnered with muddworks in Great Neck to host the workshop. Families can request crafting kits by calling 311 or 516-869-6311. Each craft kit contains two projects: a snowflake sticker and a ceramic penguin. Kits are available to children ages 4 to 8 who live in North Hempstead. Each household is limited to two kits and supplies are limited. Kits must be requested by 3 p.m. Wednesday, or while supplies last. Kits are mailed to homes.
Beginning noon on Monday, Dec. 14, families can watch a step-by-step instructional video for the projects.

"Due to popular demand from our Thanksgiving crafts, we wanted to again give back to our residents this holiday season by providing a safe and socially distant activity for children throughout the Town," Bosworth said in a news release. "We hope families enjoy working together on these fun arts and crafts projects as we all look for unique and safe ways to spread holiday cheer in spite of the pandemic."
