North Shore Animal League America Hosts Global Pet Adopt-A-Thon
Its Port Washington headquarters will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Sunday. 100 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens are waiting.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — North Shore Animal League America kicked off its 27th annual Global Pet Adopt-a-thon at its Port Washington headquarters on Monday.
The week-long event, which is being held in partnership with Purina, will run from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Sunday.
Anyone looking to adopt a pet will have the opportunity to choose from over 100 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that are “waiting for loving, responsible homes,” and all approved adopters will receive Purina giveaways, according to a news release.

The adopt-a-thon has been reimagined this year to accommodate COVID-19 health and safety protocols and to ensure the “safety of staff, the public, and the animals,” organizers said.
The Global Pet Adopt-a-thon will continue throughout the month of May with over 2,000 animal shelters and rescue groups across the U.S. and around the world joining the organization, according to organizers.

North Shore Animal League America is located at 25 Davis Ave. in Port Washington.
