Jeep Driver Dies In Northern State Parkway Crash, Troopers Say
BREAKING: The crash forced all eastbound lanes to close Tuesday morning.

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — One person is dead following a fiery two-vehicle crash on the Northern State Parkway in Roslyn Heights, state police said.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Early indications are that a 2016 Jeep Wrangler traveling eastbound smashed into the back of a 2017 Dodge Durango SUV that was traveling in the right lane, state police said. The collision sent the Jeep off the roadway and onto the right shoulder. The Jeep then crashed into a tree and caught fire.
The Jeep driver died of his injuries at the scene, troopers said. State police ask that anyone who saw the crash call state police in Farmingdale at 613-756-3300. All calls will remain confidential.

All lanes were closed between Exit 28N for Willis Avenue and Exit 29 for Roslyn Road, according to the state Department of Transportation's traffic site.
The identity of the victim wasn't immediately known.
