Obituary: Marjorie F. Weinstein, Longtime Sands Point Resident
Marjorie F. Weinstein served a variety of diverse causes and community organizations benefiting her community.

Longtime Sands Point resident Marjorie F. Weinstein died on December 18th following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
For 45 years, Marjorie and her late husband of 61 years, former North Hempstead Councilman Jerome J. Weinstein, lived in Sands Point and was a leader with a variety of diverse causes and community organizations benefiting her community.
Born in Manhattan to Solomon and Celia Farb, Marjorie graduated from the High School of Music & Art, attended Bryn Mawr College, and earned Master’s degrees from Columbia and Hofstra Universities. From leading Red Cross funding drives, championing ORT in the Port Washington area, and serving as an early leader with EAC, Marjorie supported a group home for troubled adolescents—despite some local Port Washington opposition at the time—and gave generously of her time in the operation of the home. Marjorie served as Trustee, Building Commissioner and Deputy Mayor of Sands Point and was a lifelong patron of local arts.
