Obituary: Michael Karkowski, 51, Longtime Member of Port Washington FD

Michael Karkowski, a 13-year member of the Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co. and the Port Washington Fire Department, died Friday, Sept. 2 at age 51.

Visitation for Karkowski, of Port Washington, will be held at the Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co., located at 25 Carlton Ave., Friday from 7-9 p.m.

Department services will be held at 8 p.m. in Class A uniform.

Church services will be held Saturday at 9:0 a.m. at St. Peter of Alcantara Church, located at 1327 Port Washington Boulevard. Cremation to follow.

Karkowski is survived by his wife Yvonne and his children, Nicole Sullivan and Jake Waiser. He is the brother of Richard (Michele) and Fredrick (Katy), the uncle of Matthew, Jacob, Samuel, and Griffin and the son-in-law of Johanna Johanson. Read his full obituary on Legacy.com.
