Nassau Homeowner, 66, Finds Burglar In Home: Police
Police say the man broke into a home and took a wallet. Investigators later determined he was responsible for other thefts in the area.

PLANDOME HEIGHTS, NY — A Manhasset man was arrested Saturday evening after police said he stole from homes and cars in Plandome Heights, North Hills and Manhasset.
Michael Demedina, 59, of Northern Boulevard, broke into a Winthrope Road home in Plandome Heights around 6:40 p.m. Saturday and took a wallet containing cash and credit cards, police said.
When the 66-year-old homeowner returned, he found Demedina inside and called 9-1-1, police said. Officers arrested Demedina a short time later. Investigators later determined he was responsible for three other North Shore break-ins.

Demedina faces charges of 2nd-degree burglary, two counts of 3rd-degree burglary, 3rd-degree grand larceny and 4th-degree grand larceny. He was scheduled to appear in Mineola court Sunday.
