Port Washington High School Closes After 3 More Coronavirus Cases
The three latest cases bring the Port Washington Union Free School District's total case count this year to 11.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington will close for the third time in five weeks after three more people tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said.
Michael Hynes, superintendent of the Port Washington Union Free School District, told parents Sunday the district alerted Nassau County health officials of three more positive tests at Schreiber. He declined to say whether they were staff or students, but said tracers are working to identify anyone who was within close contact with the infected people for a prolonged period of time. The district is sanitizing and cleaning the building.
"Out of an abundance of caution, Schreiber High school will remain closed on Tuesday, October 13 so the NCDOH can continue its contact tracing investigation," Hynes said.
