Port Washington Military Families Sought For Celebration

The Village of Manorhaven is looking for Port Washington military families to honor during its 70th Anniversary Armed Forces Day event.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Manorhaven village officials are looking for military families to honor at this year's celebration of Armed Forces Day. According to village clerk Sharon Abramski, everybody's invited to the event, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the holiday.

The event, most likely to be held around 9:15 a.m. Saturday, May 16, will be a way to show gratitude for our nation's service members, Abramski told Patch.

Abramski posted on the Manorhaven Village Facebook page asking families of service members, known as Blue Star Families, to reach out if they would like to participate in the celebration.
