Port Washington Police Commissioner Election: See Vote Totals
Here are the vote totals for the 2020 election for Port Washington Police District commissioner.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Vote totals were released Thursday for this year's historic election for commissioner of the Port Washington Police District.
As Patch previously reported, Brian Staley claimed victory Tuesday night over incumbent Commissioner Tom Rice. The election means Staley on Jan. 1 will become the department's first black commissioner.
Below are the official vote totals, according to the police department.

- Tom Rice: 393
The police district has three commissioners who each serve three-year terms. Staley will serve alongside fellow commissioners Frank Scobbo and Angela Mullins.
Last year, incumbent Commissioner Dave Franklin was defeated by challenger Frank Scobbo. Rice was first elected in 2017, defeating incumbent James Duncan. Mullins was elected in 2010 and her seat will be up for re-election in 2021.
