Port Washington Teen Reported Missing Returns Home Safe

BREAKING: The 15-year-old was missing since Tuesday, Nassau police said. His mother says he is safe; thanks the community for their support.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — A 15-year-old Port Washington boy who was reported missing on Tuesday has returned home.

Michael Morrissey was last seen leaving his home just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday. He was reported missing on Wednesday morning to Nassau County police’s Missing Persons Squad which began a search for him, police said.

His mother, AnneMarie Morrissey, posted to The True Port Washington Facebook group on Friday night that she was “overjoyed to share” that Morrissey was home and acknowledged receiving many texts and emails from members of the community. In a follow-up post she wrote: “Our son Michael is safe home tonight. Thank you to everyone for your support.”
