PWPL Earth Day Concert - Rescheduled for May 2nd!

Sunday, May 2nd from 2:00pm to 4:30pm at the Sousa Bandshell.

Due to inclement weather, the Port Washington Public Library's Earth Day Celebration and Concert (originally scheduled for April 25th) will be rescheduled for Sunday, May 2nd from 2:00pm to 4:30pm at the Sousa Bandshell in Sunset Park.

This year's Earth Day celebration will include an outdoor, socially distant celebration and concert in continuing with the Library's annual tradition of bringing awareness to climate change issues and environmental conservation. Residents are invited to bring their clean #5 plastics for collection and recycling by the Town of North Hempstead.

PWPL’s resident musicologist and Media Librarian Tony Traguardo will lead a band of local musicians in a swinging two-hour concert of well-known rock and roll songs all with “a message about the earth and conservation.”

The Library will be giving away complimentary protective face masks, reusable bags, wipes, hand sanitizer, raffles, giveaways, and other surprises (while supplies last).

PWPL will be collaborating with Plant A Row for the Hungry Port Washington and ReWild Long Island to raise awareness about native plants and the benefits of vegetable gardening.
