PYA Fall Sports Registrations Underway

Port Washington Youth Activities is pleased to announce that registration has begun for its 2018 fall sports activities and programs.

This year, PYA once again will offer their Developmental Flag Football program which includes boys in grades 1 and 2. The season begins with skill evaluations on September 9 at 1PM. The registration fee is $175, which will include a game jersey. Games will be at Lions Field on Sundays in October and November. The Flag Football league for grades 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th also begins with skill evaluations on September 9 at 1PM. That fee is $215.

The Fall Lacrosse Clinic for Boys in Grades K through 6 begins Thursday, September 6. The Girls Fall Lacrosse Clinic for Grades K through 6 begins Monday, September 17. Both times are at 4:30PM. The registration fee is $150 for each group.

Fall Baseball returns starting on Saturday, September 8 with the Developmental program at noon for grades K and 1st, and 1:15 for 2nd grade. The registration fee is $150. Intramural Baseball for boys (minor and major leagues in grades 3 through 7) will also begin on September 8 at 2:30 for grades 3 and 4, and 4:00 for grades 5 through 7. That registration fee is $175.

Girls Developmental Softball for grades K through 2nd (Saturdays 10:30 to 11:45 AM) and Girls Softball Minor and Major Leagues Grades 3 through 8 (Saturdays 9 AM to 10:30 AM) begins Saturday, September 8 as well. The fee is $125 for the Developmental league, and $150 for Intramural league.

“Mini-Portettes” Cheerleading will run on Sundays beginning on October 7, for grades K – 6. K – 2nd grade begins at 1:30, Grades 3 through 6 starts at 3:30. The fee is $175.

Roller Hockey will again be held at Manorhaven Park beginning on September 14 at 4:30PM for grades 2 through 8. Beginner and experienced players are welcome. The fee is $175.

Martial Arts Powered by Team Tokey Hill for grades K – 12, paired off in five age groups, begins Wednesday, September 6. The fee is $215, and will take place at 95 Seaview Boulevard in the industrial park off of West Shore Road.

The PYA Boys and Girls Fall Tennis program runs on each Tuesday afternoon beginning on September 25th. It takes place indoors at the Port Washington Tennis Academy on Harbor Road, and serves Grades 2 through 8. The registration fee is $175. Participation is limited to the first 30 players who register.

A brand-new program, PYA “Yoga For Athletes” for grades 3 – 8, begins Friday, September 7. The fee is $215, and will be held at Yoga Life at 939 Port Washington Blvd. just north of Campus Drive. Participation is limited to the first 20 players who register.

Applications for all the sports, with all the details including deadline information, can be picked up at Arena Sports at 52 Main Street or completed online at www.pyasports.org/programs (where you can also register and pay by credit card).

PYA, established in 1963, is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote the sportsmanship and character development in children through participation in its sports programs.
