Carson Daly says Port Washington’s Douglas & James ice-cream parlor is “the coolest, small little business,” and given the crowds the shop generates in the warm weather, many locals agree.

“Homemade ice-cream – it’s incredible,” the host of “The Voice” said on The Today Show.

”You feel like you’re in a time machine going way back to this special place where they make everything by hand, and it’s worth the trip every time,” Daly added, noting that the shop is about 10 minutes from his house.

Closed for winter, the shop, also known as Sweet Treats on The Wharf, reopens in April, and is located at 405 Main Street.
