Santa Claus Is Coming To Town Virtually This Year

Santa Claus will visit kids in the Town of North Hempstead this week. His visit will look a little different from years past.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Santa Claus will visit kids in the Town of North Hempstead this week as the big man in red takes Christmas requests and puts the finishing touches on his naughty and nice list.

But his visit will look a little different from years past.

Children and families can talk to Santa via group Zoom meetings held over four days beginning Wednesday and ending Sunday. Families can register by clicking here. Spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who register will be emailed a Zoom link prior to the event.

All meetings with Santa will be held in groups of up to 75 children. Zoom calls are only available for Town of North Hempstead residents.

"We knew it would be challenging for children to meet with Santa in person this year due to the pandemic," said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. "This program provides a fun and safe way for families to experience the holiday tradition of chatting with Santa from the comfort of their own homes."
