Schimel Appointed Chairwoman of Assembly Majority Conference

Assemb. Michelle Schimel (D-Great Neck) was appointed by Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie as Chairwoman of the Assembly Majority Conference.

“I am honored to be recognized by Speaker Heastie for this leadership position to serve my conference and my constituents,” Schimel said, in a statement.

Schimel previously served as vice chair of the. Majority Conference. Prior to serving in the Assembly, Michelle was the Town Clerk of North Hempstead for eight years.
