Schreiber Seniors Recognized in U.S. Presidential Scholar Program

Congratulations Samantha Radinsky and Hope Lane

PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK (FEBRUARY 2021)—Two Paul D. Schreiber High School seniors are candidates for one of the highest education honors in the United States for high school students. Samantha Radinsky and Hope Lane were selected out of nearly 3.6 million students graduating this year as nominees for the United States Presidential Scholars Program.

“I couldn’t be prouder of Samantha and Hope for this outstanding accomplishment,” said Dr. Ira Pernick, principal of Paul D. Schreiber High School. “They have both been wonderful members of our school community and have made a positive impact on all. They are truly deserving of such prestigious recognition.”

Samantha and Hope were selected by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities. Established in 1964 by executive order of President Johnson, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program continues to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
