SEE IT: Chart Shows Rising Coronavirus Cases In North Hempstead
A Patch bar chart race shows how quickly coronavirus spread through communities in the Town of North Hempstead.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — A new Patch data visualization shows how quickly coronavirus cases climbed in the Town of North Hempstead.
Using publicly available data from the Town of North Hempstead, Patch created a bar chart race detailing granular, individual case counts for dozens of communities from April 21 through Sunday, Nov. 22.

On April 21, New Cassel and Westbury had the most cases with 406 and 353, respectively. North New Hyde Park, Mineola, New Hyde Park and Great Neck rounded out the top five.
New Cassel and Westbury remained at the top of the list as of Nov. 22 as well, but Westbury saw a higher rate of increase. Mineola surpassed North New Hyde Park in cases, while Great Neck — which was designated a yellow zone Monday — remained at its No. 5 spot.

Notably, cases appeared to climb rapidly in Kings Point over that span.
On April 21, Kings Point had the 13th most cases in the Town of North Hempstead with 84. By late November, it had climbed to No. 8 with 336 cases, leapfrogging Garden City Park, Manhasset, Great Neck Plaza, Roslyn, Roslyn Heights and Williston Park in the process.
