Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For North Shore

BREAKING: Northwestern Nassau County communities may see winds up to 60 miles per hour and penny-sized hail, the NWS says.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for communities on Long Island's North Shore on Monday evening.

According to the NWS, northwestern Nassau County communities may see winds up to 60 miles per hour and penny-sized hail. Residents can expect damage to roofs, siding and tress.

The thunderstorms are expected to hit the area starting around 5:10 to 5:20 p.m.
