Summer Concert Series Returns To North Hempstead

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Grab your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets — because North Hempstead's summer concert series is back.

After more than a year of pandemic stagnation, the free outdoor series promises to be jam-packed with live music, family-friendly activities, and theatrical performances. All of the events are free to residents.

"North Hempstead is excited to offer a slate of exciting events this summer," said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. "This is the perfect opportunity to spend time outdoors at one of our parks with your friends and family."

The fun starts July 1. Here is a lineup of events:

"Concerts by Candlelight"

• Thursday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m. – Luis Damon (Salsa) – Martin "Bunky" Reid Park
• Thursday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. – Endless Summer (Beach Boys Tribute) – Michael J. Tully Park
• Thursday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. – The LP's (Music of the '70s and '80s) – Clark Botanic Garden
• Thursday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. – A Decade of Soul (Classic Soul and Motown) – Whitney Pond Park
• Thursday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. – Copperline (Music of James Taylor and Friends) – North Hempstead Beach Park (Amphitheatre)
• Thursday, Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m. – The Next Level Band (Caribbean) – Martin "Bunky" Reid Park
• Thursday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. – Pour Some '80s On Me (Hits from the '80s, '90s, and 2000s) – Clark Botanic Garden

The TONH says: All shows will take place by the snowmobile at North Hempstead Beach Park. Bring a blanket or chair.
