Traveling for Thanksgiving? Search Cheap Gas Prices in Port Washington
The low gas prices are encouraging more people to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, AAA says.

Here’s something to be thankful for: drivers will pay the second-cheapest Thanksgiving gas prices since 2008, according to AAA.
According to AAA, the national average price for regular unleaded gasoline around the Thanksgiving season is at $2.14 per gallon. The national average is expected to decline to around $2.00 a gallon by the end of the year.
Last Thanksgiving, the national average for gas prices was $2.05 per gallon. “While gas prices are slightly higher this year compared to last, gasoline is still a relative bargain and lots of people are driving to Grandma’s for turkey as a result,” Robert Sinclair, Jr., manager of media relations for AAA Northeast, said in a press release.

Average gas prices are below $2 per gallon in 12 states as of Monday. New York ($2.37 per gallon) is not among those 12 states, but gas prices in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast continue to drop, AAA says. New York and regional neighbors of Pennsylvania ($2.37) and Washington, D.C., ($2.36), are still among the top-10 most expensive markets in the country despite the recent price drops.
AAA believes the low gas prices are encouraging more people to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday.
