Weber Scores First Place at Regional Science Olympiad
The Port Washington team competed against 13 other public and private schools in Nassau County.

Port Washington’s Carrie Palmer Weber Middle School took first place in the Nassau County Regional Science Olympiad held on March 7th at Levittown Middle School.
Under the direction of Jack Grande and Christopher Buchman, Weber competed against 13 other public and private schools in Nassau County in 25 different science oriented events.
Some events were knowledge-based, while others were engineering- and project-based. Events ranged from tests on fossils, invasive species, and mapping to bottle rockets with soda bottles, bridge-building with balsa wood, robotics, and wheeled vehicles.

Weber sent multiple two-person teams to each event and brought home scores of first, second, third, and fourth place medals, as well as winning first place overall.
The team will travel to Syracuse to compete in the State Olympiads the weekend of April 18.
