2 Charged In Underage Drinking Enforcement Detail: Police

CENTER MORICHES, NY — Two were arrested and charged in an underage drinking enforcement detail Monday, police said.

On Monday, the New York State Police Barracks in Riverside conducted the operation in Brookhaven; two retail establishments were cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover state police officer under the age of 21, police said.

Arrested and charged with first degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage were Disha Lumsir, 22, of Elmont, a cashier at Singh Brothers Wine & Liquor on Montauk Highway in East Moriches, and Thomas J. Keller, 65, of East Moriches, a clerk at Spirit Giant on Montauk Highway in Center Moriches, police said.

The following establishments were checked and found to be in compliance, police said:

- A Grape Pear Wine & Liquor Boutique on Montauk Highway in Eastport.

- Pit Stop Pantry on Montauk Highway in East Moriches.

- Wave Gas on E. Main St. in East Moriches.

- Valero Food Mart on Montauk Highway in East Moriches.

- Tropico Mini Market on Montauk Highway in Center Moriches.

- Coastal Gas Mart on Main St. in Center Moriches.

- Xcel Bev on Montauk Highway in Center Moriches.

- 7-Eleven on Montauk Highway in Center Moriches.
