Bicyclist Struck By Car On Rt. 58 In Riverhead

RIVERHEAD, NY — A bicyclist was struck by a car on Route 58 in Riverhead Monday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place at 6:08 p.m. near the intersection of Mill Road when the driver of a 2018 Toyota Prius heading eastbound collided with a male bicyclist who was crossing the roadway.

The bicyclist was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corp for treatment of his injuries; no other injuries were reported, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division and the New York State Police Department's forensic investigation unit responded, police said.
