Woman Found Dead In Car Submerged In Water At LI Beach: Police
Police and first responders were on the scene Tuesday morning where a woman was found in her vehicle in the water, authorities say.

JAMESPORT, NY — A woman was found dead in a car submerged in the Long Island Sound off Iron Pier Beach in Jamesport Tuesday morning, police at the scene said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in at 8:24 a.m. about the vehicle in the water at the Iron Pier Beach boat ramps. A police officer swam to the submerged vehicle and found the woman, 56, deceased, police said.
A crime scene was established, and the Riverhead Police Department's detective division and dive team commenced an investigation of the circumstances leading up to her death, police said.

The woman's death appeared to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
