Gwen Stefani, Carter's coach, was emotional. "My heart is still beating out of my chest with nerves for you just because I care so much. I'm so happy for you. You're unbelievable. Just calm. It feels like you're just meant to be doing this and I know America is going to see that tonight and vote for you and you're just going to win the show. You're so special, and so gifted, and so natural — and I'm just so happy to be your coach and be a part of this," she said. "An amazing performance."

Carter told Stefani that he'd learned from her that success was about the entire experience, "the climb," and thanked her.

Carter's mother Alonna posted on social media about how to vote Monday night. "Tonight's the night! Thank you for your continued love and support! We need your votes one more time!" she said.

Viewers can vote 10 times each using The Voice app, NBC.com/voicevote, Google Assistant, and Xfinity x1 set-top box. "No matter what happens tonight, we are so grateful for all of your help and encouraging words. Carter won no matter where he places in this show, because there’s no better prize than making people happy with your music Your joy for him has given him everything he wants. Thank you."

Supporters have also thanked the teen for shining light on autism awareness in honor of his brother Jack, 19, who was diagnosed with autism at 2.

"It's really important for me to see the world through his eyes," Carter said. "He does see the world a little differently. And that's not a bad thing at all. It's quite beautiful."
