Cat Hit By Car Outside Winery, Community Raising Funds To Help
"He has a long road but we needed to give him a chance at a normal life."

MATTITUCK, NY — The community is coming together to help a cat found with a broken leg after he was hit by a car outside a North Fork winery.
According to Gabrielle Stroup of the North Fork Animal Welfare League in Peconic, the cat was found Saturday morning by a park ranger after he was hit outside the RGNY winery on Sound Avenue. He was brought to the Mattituck-Laurel Veterinary Hospital, where he will need to have his leg pinned. Medical expenses are expected to cost about $2,000, Stroup said.
The cat was found with no identification and it's not certain if he is lost or homeless, she said.
