Cops: Man Harasses Ex With 125 Phone Calls in 2 Days

Also, police said a man was driving down Route 58 drunk, and $180 worth of goods were stolen from a Tanger store.

 • A 36-year-old Riverhead woman was arrested on June 26 and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after she reportedly stole sandals and a swim cover-up from Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH in the Tanger Outlet Mall. Police said the items were valued at nearly $180 combined.

• On June 24, a 26-year-old Riverhead man was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of criminal obstruction of breathing, as well as harassment in the second degree, a violation. According to Riverhead police, the man's live-in girlfriend reported that during a fight, he had "bear hugged" her, covered her mouth, and pushed her down on a bed.

• A 30-year-old Riverhead man was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of aggravated DWI on June 24. According to Riverhead police, police saw the man driving down Route 58 around 2 a.m., not staying in his lane. The man was pulled over and reportedly found to be drunk.

• A 28-year-old Bellport man reportedly called his ex-girlfriend 125 times in a span of two days after exiting drug rehab, violating a court order and resulting in more charges against him. 

According to Riverhead police, the alleged victim reported that between June 22 and June 24, her former boyfriend called her on her cellphone and house phone 125 times, left her 27 voicemails, and texted her 51 times – all of which violated an order of protection.

He had recently been released from a court-mandated drug counseling center, and he was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and criminal contempt in the second degree, both misdemeanors.
