Dog Saved From Hoarder's Home Needs Help
Ben and 60 other dogs lived in squalid conditions, Kent Animal Shelter staff says.

CALVERTON, NY — A dog rescued from Puerto Rico needs help, according to staffers at the Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton.
"Ben suffered neglect at the hands of a hoarder in Puerto Rico," Kent staffers said.
He was rescued from a house where 60 other dogs lived in squalid conditions, a release said.

Ben suffers from a skin condition and needs ongoing medical attention until it can be resolved, and emergency donations are sought to help with his veterinary care and medications until he has recovered from a "very rough start" in life, staffers said.
Kent Animal Shelter opened its doors to 18 of the rescued animals, the release said.

"Our goal is healing for Ben so that he can go to his forever home, as did the others, to enjoy the happiness he deserves," Kent said in the release.
